bbpositive: Child Protection Policy

Statement

Bbpositive aims to create an atmosphere for children and young people in which they feel valued and safe in a place where their welfare is promoted and paramount.

Any concerns regarding a child or children will be taken seriously and acted upon appropriately and bbpositive staff and volunteers alike will pay attention to what children and young people say and feel.

Bbpositive will be rigorous and vigilant in protecting any child and young person using the project and its services from *abuse [*refer to Child Protection Policy p.1 & 2]; incidence of bullying or intimidation. We will do this through a careful recruitment and selection process, a transparent policy where children and adults are encouraged to voice concerns about abusive or unethical behavior without fear of recrimination [whistle blowing]; regular supervision and monitoring arrangements and guidance on appropriate behavior.

Everyone involved in the project is obliged to make sure that children and young people using the project are safe.

All concerns regarding any child or children must be reported without delay.

All those involved at bbpositive will be made aware of this policy and of what to do if they have any concerns regarding a child]. The guidelines are contained in the child protection policy so that they are properly dealt with.
